What the filter kit protects against
The filter set consists of 2 filters with different efficiency classes:
- Exhaust filter - M5 (ePM10 55%) - for MVHR protection
- Supply air filter - F7 (ePM1 55%) - for indoor air protection
This filter set complies with the ISO 16890 standard for particle filtration efficiency.
The M5 filter traps about 55% of particles 10 microns or larger, such as pollen, mould spores, pet dander and house dust. It is designed to clean the air exhausted from the room, helping to reduce the amount of visible dust and the overall accumulation of dust in the ventilation system. This reduces energy consumption, keeps the unit running quietly and extends the life of your system.
The F7 filter traps about 55% of very fine particles as small as 1 micron, including bacteria, smog, tobacco smoke particles, combustion dust, spores and forest fire smoke particles. It helps clean incoming outdoor air before it enters your home, improving indoor air quality and protecting your health.
Use and maintenance
Airobot recommends changing the filters every 6 months to ensure optimal air quality and system performance.
However, the frequency of changes may vary depending on the following factors:
- Air pollution levels (e.g. urban and rural areas).
- Allergy or sensitivity to respiratory tract
- Keeping pets indoors or smoking
- Dust from nearby construction sites
If your system has a filter change indicator, follow its warnings. Otherwise, visually check the filters - if they look very dirty or clogged, it's time to replace them.

This filter set is manufactured in Estonia by Airobot's trusted manufacturing partner, operating under strict ISO 16890 standards. Only high quality filter materials are used, ensuring consistent performance and long term reliability. Airobot units are designed and tested to withstand the harsh Nordic climate and can easily cope with temperatures as low as -25 °C. Thanks to intelligent control systems, Airobot units continuously adapt to maintain optimal indoor air quality and energy efficiency.
The filters are manufactured using Minipleat technology, a dense pleating method where the filter material is tightly folded and glued together with adhesive. This adhesive fixation ensures that the pleats are evenly spaced and stable, ensuring even filtration across the entire surface. Compared to standard pleats, this design provides a larger effective filtration area, more even airflow distribution, better particle collection and lower pressure drop.
