What the filter kit protects against
The filter set includes 2 filters:
- Exhaust filter - M5 (ePM10 55%) - for MVHR protection
- Supply air filter - M5 (ePM10 55%) - for indoor air protection
This filter set complies with the ISO 16890 standard for particle filtration efficiency.
The M5 filter traps around 55% of particles 10 microns or larger, such as pollen, mould spores, pet dander and house dust. One filters the exhaust air and protects the MVHR unit, while the other purifies the outdoor air supplied to the room, improving indoor air quality and protecting your health. This helps to reduce the amount of visible dust, lowers energy consumption, ensures quiet operation and extends the life of the system.
Use and maintenance
Paul recommends changing the filters every 6 months to ensure optimal air quality and system performance.
However, the frequency of changes may vary depending on the following factors:
- Air pollution levels (e.g. urban and rural areas).
- Allergy or sensitivity to respiratory tract
- Keeping pets indoors or smoking
- Dust from nearby construction sites
If your system has a filter change indicator, follow its warnings. Otherwise, visually check the filters - if they look very dirty or clogged, it's time to replace them.

These shield filters are manufactured using Z-line technology with a densely folded filter material mounted in a cardboard frame. This design maximises the filtration surface area, particle retention and airflow efficiency. This design provides a larger effective filtration area, more even airflow distribution, better particle retention and lower pressure drop.
